Azerbaijan – European Taste of the Orient

The aim of the project “Azerbaijan – European Taste of the Orient” is to promote Azerbaijan. By establishing cooperation between various academic institutions the project aims to promote the knowledge of and about Azerbaijan through various endeavors.

The project is intended to raise awareness especially among young people, who will decide the direction future development will take. The young people are integral for political and cultural integration, they are the ones, who lead the intercultural dialogue and cross the barriers between nations. It is therefore to them that this project is addressed.

Azerbaijan and Poland have always had very strong ties: they go back centuries. Nowadays the connections have been renewed and this project hopes to deepen them further. It is the aim of this project to solve the problem of inaccessibility of scientific studies and insufficiency of information about modern-day Azerbaijan.

One of the activites through which the project aims to spark interest in Azerbaijan is through an essay contest. The best essays will be published both on-line and as a book, hopefully providing a new source of information and inspiration for the young people interested in Caucaus and Azerbaijan.

Parnas Association will also organize in cooperation with Polish Universities seminars and workshops about Azerbaijan, it’s culture, society, politics and economy. These will aim to get students involved and interested in the region and its rich history.

The project is undertaken by the Parnas Association in cooperation with the Institute of International Relations, University of Warsaw, with the support of the The Council on State Support  to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
